Miami Swim Week 2017 Recap

OMG! It was amazing at this years’ runway shows and I had a blast covering them for my chic readers.

Although I shared some BTS snippets on my Instastories, I will share my Miami Swim Week 2017 looks & recap video (below) with you here. With so many events, shows and presentations happening in a span of three days, it was difficult to decide which ones to attend and what to wear in the heat & humidity.

Here’s a look at my Swim Week experience.  I hope you like it.

Day 1

I started off this day going to a Yacht Launch party with Shoedazzle and it was fantastic meeting all of the fabulous ladies that joined us for the ride.  There were jet skis, great music and lots of fun. It was a blast and a wonderful way to kick off swim week!

Day 2

Today’s adventure started out with Soul Cycle in the morning. I’m happy that I was able to keep up with the instructor on my very first time trying out the cycling class. It literally took me all day to recoup from Soul Cycle, which I was told it gets better by the third class.  Later, I headed out to the opening party for Sports Illustrated at the W Hotel featuring Rapper, Wale.  This show was spectacular because it showcased models of all sizes, which was loudly applauded and appreciated by the audience.  As someone who loves to look at the annual swim issue from SI, it was definitely a change from the norm.  My Mom and I noticed this right away and were very excited to see their actual runway show.  I called it a night after this went on a little longer than expected.

Day 3

Now is when the fun begins (not so much when you’re running around to shows with heels on). The day started with breakfast at Soho House with Who, What, Wear’s new shopping app launch. From there it was on to see presentations from Columbia Designers and Pitusa. After stopping by a few pop ups, bungalows and lunch, it was time to attend the evening shows. First up was Hammock Runway Show at the W and then I headed over to Audrina Partridge’s Prey Swim show. I enjoyed Prey Swim and loved seeing the bikini they gifted me on the runway in different colors (I posted it on Insta here). I then caught two more shows at the W, Wet Pool Deck, Silvia Ulson and Koa Swim.  My absolute favorite show of the night had to be Koa. OMG-they-had-MERMAIDS!!! I was blown away by the display of mermaids swimming while the girls were walking the runway, it was well done and so creative (look for them in the video). Because, yeah we all know mermaids are a thing! 🙂 We ended the night with Style Saves Runway Show at the Setai. Hosted by Rocky Barnes (love her) and Paulina Vega. This show really drove home the “Love your Body” theme as was displayed on the swim suits from iShine365. I also found it very interesting & exciting that they included a preview of fashions from one of my fave brands, Alice & Olivia.  I loved seeing them switch it up a bit.

Day 4

Started off the day with a little beach yoga and the chilled at the beach for some fun in the sun.  Tonight’s shows were Sports Illustrated, Luli Fama and Agua Bendita. First showing at the W was SI and again they stayed with the “Love Your Body” theme from the opening party. Over at the Funkshion tent, another one of my faves, Luli Fami were showing their Cuba inspired runway show.  I then ended the night back at the Setai for the Agua Bendita’s show.

day 5

The last day of swim week, I attended the Versakini show at the W Hotel’s pool deck.  I also got a chance to preview the Maaji and Seafolly shows before heading out to dinner.

Until next time, ❤️‍ (Check out video of the runway shows below)
